St. Hugh of Rouen
Benedictine
bishop of Rouen, Paris, and Bayeux, France, a nephew of Charles Martel. The son of Duke Drogo of Burgundy, he was named the
bishop of Rouen in 722. He then moved to
Paris and later to Bayeux. At the same
time he was
abbot of Fontenelles and Jumieges At the close of his life, Hugh retired to Jumieges and died as a simple
choir
