Football, the Super Bowl, Christian athletes and does God care who wins the game?

There has been a lot of talk lately about football, praying football players and does God care who wins the game.  Sometimes we simply overthink things.  Does anyone think God really cares who won the game, even the Super Bowl?  But God does care about all of His children and God loves hearing our prayers, even if we pray for weird things from time to time.  God does bless our work so I guess you could say God blesses every athlete who gives his all, does his best and gives glory to Him.  I mean do we give God thanks and praise for a good day, or even a bad day, of work??

With the Super Bowl fresh in our minds, as we still wonder what the heck was Pete Carroll thinking, here are two great articles about two football players, one somewhat famous, one who became famous last night, with about 30 seconds left in the game.

  1. In the heated era of the 'Catholics vs. Convicts' rivalry with Miami, an annoyed Hurricanes chaplain declared that God doesn't care who wins a football game. "I don't think God cares who wins, either," agreed then Fighting Irish coach Lou Holtz. "But His mother does."
