I can hardly believe my eyes tonight as LSU absolutely failed to show up and give an accounting for who they are. Before we forget, this is a LSU football team that totally dominated an entire NCAA season. 13-0, defeating numerous conference champs, bowl representatives and all comers in the SEC. Will we forget that we did beat Alabama in Alabama? We won the SEC West, which at one time had teams 1,2,3 ranked in the polls. LSU defeated Georgia for the SEC title. This is a powerful LSU team!
We arrived at this years BCS with the whole spectre of should Alabama even be there. Yet here we are at thhe BCS championship and LSU absolutely and completely failed to show up. They did nothing tonight; nothing! The offense was as embarrasing as I've ever seen and with less than 4 minutes left, LSU has a big fat zero. Defensively, they were only marginally better, bending but not really breaking but not enough to do anything about the eventual loss.
Tonight, LSU must accept defeat and so must all her loyal fans. I hope we will be proudly LSU. This would have been the 3rd national championship in 8 years and we have not had a losing record in all that time. And even tonight can't erase a 13 win season.
So congratulate LSU on a great season but congratulate Alabama on whipping LSU on the night it counted the most!
