One year at Most Holy Trinity

Today marks one year since I arrived at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Covington, La as the new Deacon on the block.  On the weekend of January 8-9 of 2011 I was introduced to the parishioners at all 5 Masses and I preached at every one of them.  I will certainly never forget that and how tired I was on that Sunday night.

Since I've made my one year anniversary I can reflect with great joy at all the moments where I have been able to assist the people of Most Holy Trinity in their walk with God.  I have enjoyed the many Baptisms I've been involved with, the implementation of Benediction on every first Friday, the work we did with the ministry team on preparing the parish for the new Roman Missal and all the many moments where I was able to minister to parishioners whether in groups or individually.

It was an exciting moment when MHT finally received the needed local government approval to build a permanent church building.  We are anxiously awaiting construction.

So I begin year 2 as the Permanent Deacon at Most Holy Trinity and so looking forward to another great year.  We have plans in 2012 to begin a strong evangelization ministry and a young adult ministry.  And soon we will be preparing for Confirmation with a visit from Archbishop Aymond and not long after that, the seasons of the year, with Lent and Easter not that far away!

Most Holy Trinity; have mercy on us!
